According to Prensa Latina news agency, Vilda Figueroa, PhD.,
and engineer Jose Lama will represent Cuba in the event at the
Centquatre (104) cultural center in the French capital.
Their book ‘Cocina Cubana con Sabor’ (Cuban Cuisine with Taste),
which comprises historical data on the Cuban culinary art and
more than 700 recipes, was one of the winners of the Gourmand
World Cookbook 2010 Awards in the category of Television
Celebrity.
The organizers of the event announced that the awarding
ceremony, of both food and wines, will take place on March 3.
During
the first two days of the fair, participants will arrange
translation services, associations and co-publications, and will
exchange on different market trends, as reported the Cubasi
website.
The following day the fair will open to the public with more
than 4,000 works and other activities such as authors’
dedications, culinary shows, wine tasting, photo exhibits,
lectures and discussions.
Cheese —in all its varieties— will be the star product of the
fair, which is presided over by Chef Alain Dutournier.
According to a press release, the program of the fair includes
cheese tasting, suggestions to combine cheese with different
wines, and the launching of books on cheese.
Italy, the Fair’s guest of honor this year, will promote its
books, its gastronomic culture, its food, its wines, and the
creativity of its culinary masters.
