During
her visit to the Indian Central Council for Research in
Homeopathy (CCRH), the Central Council for Research in Yoga and
Naturopathy, and the Ayurvedic Research Center, both parts
talked about strengthening and expanding the use of natural
medicine in Cuba.
During an interactive meeting organized by the Chamber of
Commerce and Industry of India, Campa spoke of Cuba’s
achievements in the filed of vaccines, mostly produced by the
Finlay Institute, to representatives from several Indian
enterprises from the biotechnology sector.
She referred to Cuba’s wide immunization program, which has
contributed to reducing infant mortality rate to 4.5 per one
thousand live births.
Campa also talked about the difficulties Cuba faces in the field
of biotechnology due to the US economic blockade imposed against
Cuba for more than 50 years.
According to a press release by the Cuban embassy in India, the
Cuban doctor traveled to New Delhi in response to an invitation
from the Indian Council of Medical Research of the Indian
Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
During her stay, she will also meet with local political
leaders.
