However, even people that do not deny the cruel reality, attempt
to divert the issues and leave out those that are truly
responsible of what is going on in today´s world.
In this sense it is not strange to listen to criteria that
humanity´s advancement makes the destruction of nature
inevitable, or others that refer that man has a destructive germ
without leaving to one side versions of the “divine punishment”
or “fatalism” genes, geographic or of another origin.
However, the response is not so complicated or
searched for. Just look at history and you can perceive the
uncontrolled urge for power, profit and domination of certain
societies that have involved the irrationality of destruction
with the objective of satisfying its crazy appetite.
It is undeniable that the uncontrolled exploitation of resources
for personal reasons and the creation of images of strength that
persists despite knowing that there is a limit in the
environment.
Nature took 300 million years to create oil reserves and in a
little over a century developed capitalist societies have taken
them to the limit.
The same is happening with drinking water to the point in which
people are already talking about future wars to conquer rivers,
lake and wells across the planet. A similar situation is
happening already with the armed imperial persecution of oil in
geographic regions where there is still an important quantity of
hydro carbons.
Over 6.5
billion people inhabit the world today which, since the 1970’s
has lost the capacity of self regenerating the environment due
to the large amount of accumulated contamination.
Each year, 100 million people are born on earth. What will be
offered to them but a future of chaos under a global system that
lacks reason, solidarity and true equity?
Humanity was and is also those that in Pre
Colombian America and other parts of the Third World created and
came from important civilizations capable of assuming the
special energy in living in harmony with nature and all other
living beings.
