Terrorism: From the Cradle

Everyone knows the definition of terrorism: attempt to assert one’s authority through violence.

Terrorism is not exclusive to a person or certain group of assassin minds. In fact it could be established as State policy in arming its most reactionary classes to prevail inside or outside its borders.

By Nestor Nuñez

Of course, today with the technology used by the media outlets, the term has incorrectly been used and manipulated with the objective of having those linked to terrorism as “noble combatants in favor of life”.

Under this disguise, they launch their characterization of the word terrorism against those that oppose them to justify military invasions and aggressive actions at all human and material costs.

This way, Washington has permanently placed Cuba in the unilateral list of alleged States tied to terrorism, when the island has actually been victim of brutal aggressions, encouraged, supported and financed precisely by US reactionary sectors.

Can the US deny that terrorist Luis Posada Carriles, who is currently being tried for lying, was trained by the US to kill everyway possible? He has even publicly said that he has been loyal to his intelligence and subversive collaboration with the CIA.

Where else but in the US has another terrorist Orlando Bosch, co-author alongside Posada Carriles of the bombing of a Cubana airliner in 1976 and other terrorist actions, found safe refuge?

Where else but in the US are mercenary groups which have for five decades executed hostile aggressions against the Cuban people found? Where else but in the US are five Cuban men unjustly incarcerated in prison after fighting terrorism in southern Florida?

It could not be any other way because Washington uses terror to achieve absolute power at all costs.

The American imperialist society was built by force and brutality “honoring” the Prussian military chief Otto Bismarck who claimed that “democracy must be imposed by force” and that a State that does not use violence will never advance enough.

Ask the white supremacists, neo Nazi organizations, members of the Ku Klux Klan, Tea Party organizers and the Bush family if it is not better to exercise power by eliminating all those who oppose or attempt to resist them.

The world should not ever forget the arrogant challenge of George W. after the September 11th terrorist attempt when the cowboy proclaimed “he that is not with me is against me” and threatened to attack no less than 60 “dark corners of the planet” under the so called terrorist crusade.

Two inconclusive wars of aggression, kidnappings, secret prisons and all out tortures, are only a part of the most recent history carried out by the “anti terrorist” president.

A President that knew how to be surrounded by Miami mafia, subversive agents like Otto Reich and high ranking pro far fanatics like Dick Cheney among others. (By Néstor Núñez, AIN)
