The project will be debated among all sectors of
society, something that is traditionally carried out in the
country’s most important decision making by the Cuban
revolutionary process reaffirming its true participatory and
democratic character.
Consequent with the idea that the economic battle is what is
most important in the current complex situation in order to
preserve the Cuban socialist system chosen by the vast majority
of the population. The document is the guide to follow for an
objective and transparent action plan for the main sectors of
the economic and social life of the people with the current
available resources.
There is also the analysis of the foreign and domestic factors
in evaluating the economic situation compared to other moments
when we blamed all on the blockade and foreign elements without
a just explanation of many of the mistakes.
The emphasis is in what we can do to neutralize, alleviate or
solve the economic problems which continue as a pending subject
in the island’s revolutionary process.
The main policies related to the document in my opinion, an
essential element: are true realities and nothing is presented
as though a magic wand will solve all the problems.
On the other hand, it offers a hopeful panorama for the future
in aspects that touch the most sensible areas for the population
such as employment, wages, homes, commerce, social security,
investment and others, issues that are touched on a daily basis
by the Cuban people. At the time of applying the recently
approved Resolutions and other dispositions adapted to the
reality, the document responds to doubts that one might have and
clarifies the why of many things, reaffirming the honesty and
transparency of the revolutionary leadership in offering these
decisions to the population, which of course will have diverse
opinions,
but indicate the way towards the future.
With its mistakes, the Cuban economic system has allowed the
country to reach many achievements nonexistent in other parts of
the world, without giving in to conditions imposed by over 10 US
administrations and many of its allies.
Maybe we failed in wanting to share more than what we have,
accustomed to
receiving and not being demanding enough with our tasks. But if
we all do what is necessary, there will be much more to share
among others.
The content of the guidelines under discussion is
a great challenge, but if we achieve materializing the
objectives included in the document and work hard, we shall
overcome. Eradicate incompetence; recover work as a means of a
source of richness can improve our quality of life.
