The aggression against Cuba is still intact and
at this point, loses inflicted against the island during half a
century surpasses 700 billion dollars, amount that is higher
than the equivalent to 15 years of sustainable development.
In fact, over 70 percent of the Cuban people today are victims
of the effects of US aggressions. Consistent public statements
made by some US Representatives and spokespersons reiterate that
Washington has not and will not change its
aggressive policy against Cuba.
According to Cuba´s report to the UN on the issue of the
economic, commercial and financial blockade for 2010, US Vice
President Joseph Biden told the Chilean press months ago, that
the White House will not end its restrictive measures against
Cuba.
State Department spokesperson, Robert Wood, meanwhile, said that
“we have
been clear that this is not the moment to lift the embargo”. If
it weren’t enough, David Axelrood, President Barack Obama’s
advisor told CBS that “we are far” from ending the blockade.
It is evident and clear that the US government has no intention
of making a positive turn in its aggressive policy against Cuba.
In this sense, of course, it has no intention of complying with
the continuous UN General Assembly Resolutions that demand the
White House end the economic, commercial and financial blockade
against the island. On the contrary, as said in the Cuban
report, “the US government will continue its policy of placing
unacceptable conditions and demands as a prerequisite for a
change of policy towards the Caribbean island.
Summarizing: The US will continue its use of pressures and
economic and
financial aggressions in its attempt to achieve its objective of
ending Cuba’s self determination in exchange for US control of
the island.
