With regards to his meeting with
Cuban President Raul Castro, Bacai Sanha added that it was
cordial and fruitful and that they reviewed the state of
bilateral relations and spoke of topics of international
interest.
“Cuba will continue to have the support of Guinea-Bissau and
Guinea-Bissau can count on Cuba as a friend and as a commercial
partner,” noted the African leader minutes before his departure
at Havana’s Jose Marti International Airport where he was seen
off by Deputy Foreign Minister Ana Teresita Fraga.
During his stay in the Cuban capital, Bacai Sanha paid tribute
to African independence leader Amilcar Cabral, who was born in
Guinea-Bissau, and to the Cuban internationalists who died
fighting for the independence and sovereignty of African
nations. He also laid a floral wreath before the monument
dedicated to Cuban National Hero Jose Marti at the Revolution
Square in Havana.
