During the meeting, Raul Castro sent greetings to his Namibian counterpart Hifikepunye Lucas Pohamba and thanked the diplomat for her work in the island since 2004, which he described as outstanding and supportive. He also noted that Cuba and Namibia maintain excellent bonds.

 
Present in the meeting was also Cuban Foreign Affairs minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla.
