Signed by SPP Secretary General Filemon Medina,
the document reiterated the organization’s claim for the release
of Gerardo Hernandez, Ramon Labañino, Antonio Guerrero, Fernando
Gonzalez and Rene Gonzalez, known by the international campaign
for their freedom as the Cuban Five.
Medina told Prensa Latina news agency that the
Cuban Five can be called heroes because when a person decides to
defend the physical integration of his home nation, even at the
cost of his life or freedom, that person can be called a hero.
He criticized the fact that the Cuban Five were sentenced to
outrageous terms in a biased trial without not even having
evidences of the crimes they were charged on.
On related news, a group of Yemeni youths who studied in Cuba
reportedly condemned the imprisonment of the Cuban antiterrorist
fighters.
A press release posted in the Cuban foreign ministry’s website
says the youths sent a message to the Cuban government signed by
the president of the Graduates Association of the province of
Abian, Anuar Mabrook Naser, in which they state that they will
continue denouncing the injustice committed against the Cuban
Five until they return to their families in Cuba.
