The commissions on Constitutional and Legal
Affairs and on National Defense will prepare their reports about
the Road Safety Code and Political Administrative Division bills
that will be put for consideration to the Parliament on Sunday,
August 1.
The commission on Economic Affairs will evaluate the fulfillment
of economic plans, the implementation of the State budget in the
first semester of 2010, production rates, the performance of the
ALBA Bank and the South Bank, and the replacement of imports.
Deputies in the agriculture and food commission will analyze
studies on the coffee and cacao production in the country and
the food offer to the people as well as its commercialization
specifically in Havana.
The commission of Local Government Bodies will evaluate the
response to complaints, requests and suggestions by the people,
the latest report by the delegates to their voters and national
efforts to strengthen the public character of municipal
assemblies of the people’s power.
Representatives of the Ministry of Transportation will report to
the commission on Public Services the results of the
experimental project of renting out taxis to drivers and the
implementation of a program for the recovery of the railroad
industry, while the Interior Ministry will present a report on
the renting of barbershops and beauty parlors and the increase
in the selling of construction materials to the people.
Members of the International Relations commission will evaluate
the situation in Haiti, the role of the United Nations faced
with the most pressing problems of mankind, the relations
between Cuba and both the European Union and the United States,
as well as actions in favor of the release of the five Cuban
antiterrorist fighters imprisoned in the US.
