In a letter signed by 141 personalities, the signatories recall that the US government has denied eight times entry visas to Olga Salanueva and Adriana Perez, the wives of Rene Gonzalez and Gerardo Hernandez, respectively, so they can visit their husbands in prison, the Granma newspaper reports on Saturday.

According to the text, prepared by the Federation of Greek Women, the denial responds to the fact that the US authorities unbelievably consider them a threat to national security. In the letter, the signees request Obama to reconsider his position with respect to the issuing of entry visas for the wives of René and Gerardo, since they have not been accused of any crime and have only asked for permission to visit their husbands in prison.
