The delegations are headed by the Cuban Minister
of Science, Technology and the Environment (CITMA), Jose Miyar
Barrueco, and by his Brazilian counterpart, Sergio Machado
Rezende.
Machado Rezende and his accompanying delegation arrived in
Havana on Tuesday to participate in this working session that
aims at increasing cooperation ties that began in 2002 when a
group of Brazilian experts visited Cuba.
The most recent agreement in this respect dates back to February
2008 when Cuban and Brazilian representatives signed an
Amendment to an existing Agreement on science, technology and
innovation, particularly in the area of radio-medicines,
nanotechnology and renewable energy.
