Objectivity and Carefulness: Necessary in Contracting, says First VP Machado Ventura

The call was made during a meeting with representatives from the cooperative and
agricultural sectors of La Habana province’s San Jose de las Lajas municipality, in which delegates to the 10th Congress of the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP) and candidates-to-be of the future National Committee of this organization were elected, the Granma newspaper reports on Thursday.

The report analyzed during the meeting underlines that the yield and volume of harvests depend largely on consumables, but also specifies that there’s a good deal of difficulties of subjective nature affecting results, as well as of non-implemented local solutions.

An optimum use of available resources, to erase damaging ways of thinking and take into account the economic reality of today, amid which the country should limit itself to its resources in order to be able to give, are things that should be emphasized, added Machado Ventura.

Higinio Rodriguez, president of the 13 de Marzo Cooperative of Credits and Services, criticized the bureaucratic obstacles and decisions that still exist, in spite of efforts and measures currently in force.

Rodriguez said that the current marketing mechanisms, at least municipal ones, show down diversification, since they don’t encourage less competitive and yet demanded lines. But –he affirmed- no adversity, no matter how harsh it may be, can make us stay with our arms crossed.
