According to Granma newspaper, Inter RAO will
participate in the organization of the joint venture Generación
Mariel S.A., created upon the principle of equality between Cuba and
Russia as part of inter-governmental agreements to expand
cooperation in the energy sector.
This Russian enterprise, along with the Cuban Electricity Union,
will work in a project to manage and modernize the Maximo Gomez
thermoelectric power plant, including the renovation of four
generating units with a capacity of 100 MW each and the construction
of two others with the same capacity, RIA Novosti news agency
reports.
Inter RAO accumulates a capacity of 18,000 MW and it has a prominent
position in the Russian market of energy import and export.
