Tourism Workers Contribute to National Anti-Cancer Program
SANTIAGO DE CUBA, Cuba, Mar 4 (acn) Workers of the tourism sector in the eastern province of Santiago de Cuba donated more than 13,000 convertible pesos in 2009 to the national anti-cancer program.

During a gala to celebrate the day of tourism workers in this city, Victor Soto, General Secretary of the tourism workers trade union, explained that the tourist sector in Cuba and the world has been seriously affected by the current international economic crisis, which demands more efforts and creativity to satisfy visitors who choose Cuba as their holiday destination.
Meanwhile, Eloy Bertot, tourism delegate in Santiago de Cuba province, read a letter from the Tourism Minister and the General Secretary of their Trade Union in which they urge workers to be more efficient and to increase the quality of their tourist products.
“These have to be top priorities for the current year, when our trade union celebrates its 15th anniversary,” he added.
