Vaillant, who is also the head of the Cuban
diplomatic mission in Egypt, presented his documents along with his
counterparts from Viet Nam and Mali and later held joint talks with
the leader of the PNA, Prensa Latina news agency reported.
During the meeting, the Caribbean ambassador expressed his
satisfaction for speaking on behalf of the Cuban people, Government
and Communist Party, and ratified the island’s invariable support of
the Palestinian cause.
For his part, Abbas expressed his gratitude and that of his people
for Cuba’s permanent solidarity.
Likewise, he reiterated his willingness to continue strengthening
the historic bonds of friendship between Havana and Ramallah, a city
in the West Bank that has become the capital of the PNA.
Abbas also recalled his visit to Cuba in September 2009, when he met
with President Raul Castro and other authorities.
