Non Aligned Countries Reject New US’s Airport Control Measures
HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 1 (acn) The Non Aligned Movement (NAM) passed a declaration rejecting a
group of measures recently implemented by the US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) that include more rigorous screening for passengers coming from or through 14 countries,
including Cuba.

The document, published today by the Cubadebate website, condemns the decision by the US Government that labels these 14 nations as ‘state sponsors of terrorism and countries of interest’.


The text rejects this unilateral list and urges all States to comply with their duties
regarding international law and humanitarian international law in the fight against terror.


Likewise, NAM advocates multilateralism and recalls that international organizations are the appropriate framework to solve all problems through dialogue and cooperation.


The declaration was approved on January 27, 2010, by the Coordination Bureau of NAM, which is comprised of 118 countries.
