Rodriguez
defended the strengthening of relations between Cuba and the Persian
nation and the establishment of greater cooperation at the very
heart of the Movement of Non-Aligned Countries and other
international organizations, the Tehran Times reports on its web
site on Tuesday.
With regard to the hostility of the United States toward Cuba, he
said that, one year after the arrival of Barack Obama to the
presidency of that country, no significant changes have occurred in
Washington’s policy toward the island.
For his part, Mottaki declared himself to be in favor of the
strengthening of relations of friendship between Tehran and Havana,
and underlined the priority his country gives to its bonds with
Latin America and the Caribbean.
In addition, he expressed his confidence in that the meeting between
the two foreign offices will favor the expansion of bilateral bonds.
The top Cuban official began a tour of the Middle East on January
18, which has already included visits to Egypt, Syria, Lebanon and
Saudi Arabia, where he has fulfilled a tight working agenda.
