At the closing of the 15th Americas Business Tourism and Incentive Trips Fair (MITM), Maria Elena Lopez, Cuba’s Tourism deputy Minister, said the growth is the result of a good commercial and promotional work, of the constant improvement of the tourist offer and of the contribution of colleagues from around the world.

She underscored that the Cuban strategy, as a destination, has been oriented to the development of the country’s potentials which go beyond being only sun and beach offers.

The conference and incentive trips tourism is one of Cuba’s main lines of work nowadays, to which the next International Tourism Fair (FITCuba 2010) will be dedicated, she added.

Lopez also said that the country has over 70 hotels with the facilities for congresses and meetings, besides 9 convention centers which have state-of-art information technology infrastructures.

The 2009 MITM Americas was in sessions for two days at the Melia Cohiba Hotel in this city, with the attendance of experts from the United States, Canada and 14 European countries.
