The exchange demonstrated once again the satisfaction of the two parties for the positive and increasing bilateral bonds existing between the two countries, strengthened with the recent visit to the island of Vietnamese President Nguyen Minh Triet.

The course of economic cooperation and its important potentialities for development was tackled, particularly in the production of rice, a sector in which Raul expressed his appreciation for the help and advice received from the Asian sister nation.

Present in the meeting were Ricardo Cabrisas, Vice-president of the Council of Ministers; Fidel Figueroa de la Paz, Minister of Construction; and Vu Chi Cong, Vietnam’s ambassador to Havana.
