During his weekly Sunday radio and
television program ‘Alo, Presidente’, Chavez spoke with several
youths that studied in Cuba and recently joined a national
crusade to bring free health care to all the corners of the
Venezuelan territory.
Prensa Latina news agency reports
that the youths expressed their gratitude to Cuba for their
human and professional training while Chavez announced that he
signed a new law for the recognition of higher education degrees
of graduates from countries of the Bolivarian Alliance for the
Americas (ALBA).
Last August, the National Assembly
of Venezuela passed legislation about the Recognition of Higher
Education Degrees among ALBA member countries, following up on
an agreement signed during an ALBA summit held last June 24 in
Maracay, Venezuela.
The Final Resolution of the summit
mentioned, as another step in the regional integration process,
the signing of an Agreement for the Recognition of Higher
Education Degrees or Diplomas.
The document will allow youths who
study in ALBA member countries – as part of cooperation programs
- to practice in their own nations when they graduate.
