Repercussion over Peace Concert in Havana
HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 20 (acn) Over 120
web sites from around the world broadcast live the five-hour concert
held at Havana’s Revolution Square, which gathered over a million
Cubans.

The public, mainly made up by youngsters,
including Latin American students and many families with their
children, resisted the bright sun and intense heat on the wide
avenues that are part of the square and also in the surrounding
areas.
“It will be a historical day” had said beforehand the promoter of
the Peace without Borders concerts, Colombian singer Juanes, and
reactions from both the public and the artists have proven him
right.
According to estimates, around one million one hundred and fifty
thousand people attended the concert to celebrate World Peace Day
with the Cuban and foreign artists, and it is believed that another
10 million enjoyed in their homes this unprecedented event through
television or internet.
The diverse music styles -from merengue and love ballads to rock
and funky-, with pieces that sang to love, peace and hope, like “Tu
pueblo es mi pueblo” (Your People is my People), in the voice of
Puerto Rican Danny Rivera -which made more than one member of the
audience cry- certainly make this concert an unforgettable one.
