The municipality was designated to host the
provincial celebrations due to its economic achievements,
including its significant contribution of consumer goods to the
provincial territory.
Addressing participants in the ceremony, the
First Secretary of the Communist Party in the province, Ulises
Guilante, stressed the industrial, scientific and economic
potential of the municipality, and the strong commitment of the
people.
The province of Habana contributes 33 percent of
the country’s total agricultural production and 46 percent of
cement, among other characteristics, particularly its reserves
to increase its contribution.
Workers in this western province reconstructed
over 300 facilities to improve the living conditions of the
people. Other Cuban territories also hold rallies and activities
in commemoration of the historic date as citizens show their
goals and
their commitment to keep working for the economic and social
advance of
the nation.
