According to Prensa Latina news agency, the article explains the significance of the event and notes that it was the spark that later led to the triumph of the Cuban Revolution. It mentions that many valuable Cuban men were lost in the action and that a small group, including Fidel, was arrested and sentenced to prison.

The article also makes reference to Fidel's historical defense during the trial that was later known as “History will absolve me.” The document became the foundational grounds of the 26 of July Movement and the platform for the deep changes made in the island after the triumph of the Revolution in 1959, notes the publication of Seychelles' ruling party.

After presenting a brief chronological review of the actions, The People highlights Seychelles’ friendship bonds with Cuba, from which it receives growing help in the development of the educational and health sectors.

Seychelles' government is looking forward and facing the challenge of providing better medical assistance to the people and a growing number of Cuban doctors are contributing to boosting health services, says the weekly newspaper.

The article points out that, at the same time, young people from the Seychelles are studying in Cuban institutions to become medical experts.

The newspaper announced that the Cuba-Seychelles Friendship Association is organizing a cultural-political activity for August 1 to celebrate July 26 and further increase relations between the two peoples.
