Scheduled for Friday morning is the presentation
of the Trilho Popular Theater Group, while in the afternoon
singer-songwriter Raul Ellwanger will perform. Following this
will be the panel "The Five Heroes: when authoritarianism goes
beyond human rights, the Prensa Latina mews agency reports.
Participating in this panel will be Magali Llort, the mother of
Fernando Gonzalez, one of the five Cuban antiterrorists unfairly
imprisoned in the United States since 1998; historian Enrique
Serra, and justice advocate Gino Bastos.
On Friday night, Homero Acosta, secretary of the Cuban Council
of State, will address participants, and the lecture "The
international media campaign against Cuba and its expression in
Brazil" will be given.
Also programmed for Friday is a recital by Cuban troubadour
Vicente Feliu and by his Argentinean colleague Gabo Sequeira,
who will sing pieces from "Confidential Songs", an album based
on the book Confidential Poems, by Antonio Guerrero, one of the
Five Heroes.
Representatives of 12 from the 27 Brazilian states will take
part in this solidarity-with-Cuba meeting, which will end with
the approval of the Porto Alegre Charter.
